Summer Mood Board

Let’s be honest: spring was a total letdown. The miserable weather literally rained all over my parade. Took the spring right out of my step. My cute sandals didn’t even see the light of day.

I’m not usually a fan of the hot weather, but I’m actually relieved summer is here. Simple food made with perfect produce; easy, impromptu entertaining; light, breezy style . . . I’m so ready. In many ways, it reminds me of life in France where everyday is about celebrating the simple things.

This summer will be especially memorable for me because I’ll be cocooned at home with my newborn daughter. We’re anxiously awaiting her arrival (any day now)! I know she’ll keep me right in the heart of the present moment, which is, at least for me, the true spirit of summer.

Just because I’ll be wearing a bathrobe covered in spit up doesn’t mean I can’t dream about pretty linen dresses, al fresco dinners, and glasses of chilled rosé (okay, you’re right, I’ll definitely be sipping some rosé). My summer mood board is everything I love about summer—effortless style in a palette of soft, neutrals.
