Winter Mood Board
This winter, I’m all about simplicity. I have this urge to strip everything down to the studs and focus on the heart and soul of my life. Perhaps it’s because motherhood demands I get clear about my priorities, or maybe it’s because I’m getting older and have less patience for nonsense, but whatever it is, one thing’s for sure: I don’t have time for complicated.
Holiday Gift Guide
I’m so excited to share my annual holiday gift guide with you! It’s always so much fun pulling together my favorite things. If you know me, you know I’m a big fan of style and function—I love objets that enhance daily life, but that also contribute to the overall decor of my home.
Fall Mood Board
Last week I went to dinner with poop on my shirt. In my defense, I didn’t realize it until I got home. Not that it would’ve mattered. I was just so happy to be out of the house. Chloé slept in her stroller while Billy and I enjoyed a casual meal outside on a beautiful September night. It was perfect, poop and all.
Spring Mood Board
Creating a mood board is a a practice in svadhyaya, or self-study. Pulling inspiration and assembling it all together in one place gives me a chance to study my choices in color, texture, light, and composition. For me, it’s about more than just collecting images I love; it codifies my feelings and my perspective on life. It tells a story—my story.
2017 Gift Guide
I had a lot of fun putting together this year’s gift guide. My inspiration was rooted in the guiding principle that influences almost every purchase I make: versatility. Each of these gift ideas can serve multiple purposes, and some can even satisfy multiple people on your list.
California Style
This East Coast gal has a confession to make: I’ve got a major crush on California. My heart may belong to a white clapboard saltbox home, but I could really get behind a bogevelia-covered beach bungalow. Don’t worry, I’m not moving, even if the weather is perfect and they have an unlimited supply of ripe avocados.
Rituals On Display
There are tiny little rituals in my day that are so important and yet so mundane, I wouldn’t necessarily think to celebrate them. Putting on my jewelry, for example, brings a sense of purpose to my day. The way my favorite hand cream smells grounds me in the comfort of a familiar scent but also lifts my spirits. These seemingly unimportant moments in my day are actually quite meaningful; they string together and create meaning.
Welcome H(OM)E!
Believe it or not, those two words embody the spirit of my life’s work. A true hostess at heart, I feel compelled to create a space where people can relax into who they truly are. Whether you’re coming over to my house for dinner or stepping into my classroom to practice, I’m driven by a sincere desire to help you feel at home with yourself.
